Hoopcross level 14: a 10 by 10 nonogram grid with number clues and cross stitches filling the top rows

"When you run out of the 3 given mistakes, it's an ad for every single mistake after."

We read the 1- and 2-star reviews of one of the biggest nonogram games on Google Play. The same complaints kept coming up.

Lives that turn mistakes into ads. A slip of the finger on a big grid costs a life, and once the lives are gone every error means another video.

An ad after nearly every puzzle. Full-screen ads on opening the app, after each finished picture and after the reward pop-ups, plus banners under the grid.

Pop-ups in the way. "Excellent!" and "Great job!" interruptions between you and the next puzzle.

Hoopcross keeps the logic and drops the pressure

No lives, no timer

Mistakes stay on the board until you find them. Tap Check when you want and it circles every wrong mark in red. The first check of each puzzle is free, and undo is always free.

Every puzzle solves by logic alone

Each puzzle is tested by a row-and-column solver before it reaches you, so you never have to guess. Grids grow from 5×5 to 15×15 as you go.

Hints that teach

A hint fixes one of your mistakes first. If there are none, it fills the square that logic finds next, so you can see where to look.

Ads that wait their turn

Never during a puzzle, never a banner. A short ad can appear between puzzles now and then, and videos for coins only play when you tap them.

Questions

What is a nonogram?

A picture logic puzzle, also called picture cross, griddler or paint by numbers. The numbers beside each row and column give the lengths of the runs of filled squares in that line. Fill the right squares and a picture appears.

Is Hoopcross free?

Yes. It's free to download and play, supported by ads. There's nothing to buy.

How many ads will I see?

None during a puzzle and no banners. A short ad can appear between puzzles, at most every third break and never within a couple of minutes of the last one. Videos for coins only play when you tap them.

Do I ever have to guess?

No. Every puzzle is checked by a solver that only uses one row or column at a time, so there is always a next square you can work out.

Does it work offline?

Yes. No Wi-Fi or mobile data needed to play.

What data does Hoopcross collect?

Your progress stays on your phone (and in your own Android backup). Ads come from Google AdMob, which uses your advertising ID. The app has no analytics and no account. Details are on the privacy page.
